Thanks to Mally for sending me a whole bunch of screencaps from Dave's appearance on a short-lived ABC show, Hot Properties. Here's her description of the episode:

Dave's character on the show, from what I understand as I watched the episode for the first time, has a few coincidental run-ins with one of the female characters on the show. She complains to her friends that her old partner, which is Dave's character named Ted, keeps bumping into her thinking that she is hitting on him. So, he tries to say he's already married and eventually at the end considering all the bumps with each other, Ted finally gives in thinking that she does want him, but ends up being locked outside by her at the end of the episode. If that made any sense.
