Where is my accent? Once again, someone expressed surprise that I'm from New York, because of my "nondescript accent".

My moms has an accent. My dads has an accent. My sistahs has an accent. Tante Joan has an accent. They're not cartoonish New Yawk accents or anything, but they're there.

Not that I don't have an accent. I am aware that everyone who speaks has an accent. I have some species of American accent. And that species is "nondescript".

Cheryl has a New England accent. Gina has a Midwestern accent. erin has a Lawn Guyland accent. Kitana has a Canadian accent. Even Steph (A) has a Brooklyn accent, with occasional, amusing dips into the Southern twang of the small Tennessee town where she went to college.

Why am I BORING???

(My theory: Television. I watched more television than anyone in my family as a child. Television made me nondescript.)
