This is what I'm singing today. Why? Why? WHY???
Because
I'M MOVIN' OUT!
Gina and Cheryl and I were miraculously approved for the new apartment. We are moving into the complex across the street from The (current) Penthouse, into a 3-bedroom-- a style of apartment appropriately called "The Baldwin Penthouse".
(You know what sucks about being a Baldwin?
NOTHING!!! HAHAHAHA!)
We move in May 10. Which means that yes, before my 26th birthday, the overgrown baby bird will finally, and completely, be leaving the dusty, cluttered, overstuffed nest! Why are you in Tavie's head? 12:45 PM | shower me with attention

The Web is where we wallow in the past.
Nothing is lost.
Thank you, Internet. Curse you, Internet.
Speaking of which, don't watch this terrible short film about "South of the Border".
Although, I must admit that deepest in my darkest of souls, when I saw the giant sombrero on the tiny screen, it made me long for Disney World. We used to drive down to Florida in a station wagon, allllllll night, and we knew that in the morning we'd eat breakfast at South of the Border, the neon faux-Mexican Rest Stop Extraordinaire. It was so exciting, spotting those giant plaster stereotypes, because we knew that Disney World wasn't too far ahead... Why are you in Tavie's head? 11:25 PM | shower me with attention
Look at me, getting stuff done. Takin' care of bidness. Woot. Why are you in Tavie's head? 9:31 PM | shower me with attention

I got locked in the bathroom this morning. I got locked in the bathroom tonight. My mom had to rescue me the first time, my dad the second.
Stupid bathroom door's been broken for over a decade and now it's locking people in. Can we get a handyman up here? Is that too much to ask? No humans may cross the threshhold of this dump?
Maybe I am the crazy witch who lives on the haunted house on the hill...
Miz Steph and I had dinner at the Mexican place after work tonight. I love having her back. Captain Annoying asked me if it was like getting my best friend back, having her work with me, and I hadn't thought about it that way, but that's exactly what it's like.
I have to get up ungodly early tomorrow and go take care of some evil necessities. Wish me luck with the whole getting to sleep thing, I especially need it tonight. Why are you in Tavie's head? 10:27 PM | shower me with attention

Tim Curry talks about Spamalot. Yummy.
Tante Joan is trying to get Kirsten and me tickets for Spamalot for our birthday. Cross your toes. Why are you in Tavie's head? 11:21 PM | shower me with attention
This website helped me compile the following list of relatively low-carb foods that will get me my nutrients:
Vitamin D - salmon, mackeral, tuna, sardines Vitamin E - wheat germ oil, almonds, sunflower seeds, safflower oil Vitamin K - asparagus, brussels sprouts, cabbage, soybeans, dark leafy greens Vitamin C - lemons, limes, grapefruit, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, spinach, rosehips Thiamin (Vitamin B1) - pork, soybeans, peanuts Iron - liver, red meat, watermelon, spinach, asparagus Zinc - oysters, chickpeas, red meat, peanut butter, pumpkin seeds, cheddar Calcium - cheese, leafy greens (not spinach), canned salmon/sardines with bones Magnesium - almonds, cashews, soybeans
God. You'd think I had too much time on my hands, or something.
Yeah, like I'm gonna eat wheat germ oil... The rest of the stuff looks pretty good though. I had some almonds while I was working today, it felt nice and healthy.
I actually do eat foods like those listed very regularly. It's not like I'm eating junk food. Well, okay, I did have some pork rinds over the weekend, but, dammit... Why are you in Tavie's head? 10:23 PM | shower me with attention
According to Fitday, I've been deficient in the following nutrients for the past month:
Vitamin D - WAY Low Vitamin E - Kinda low Vitamin K - Kinda low Vitamin C - Kinda low Thiamin - Moderately low Iron - Only half as much as I need Zinc - Kinda low Calcium - Only half Magnesium - Only half
I really need more Viatmin D, Iron, Thiamine, Calcium and Magnesium, especially. I need to start buying those multivitamins again.
What foods should I eat to get this stuff? (Milk is carby, low-carb milk expensy.) Why are you in Tavie's head? 11:53 AM | shower me with attention

Memory-foam mattress cover hath arriveth. It feels like having a new bed. This is a good night to test it; I woke up this morning achey from my crappy mattress over at The Penthouse. Will report further tomorrow.
In sad news, Celebrity Fit Club has ended. I'll miss those annoying, fat celebrities. Before I saw the show, the very idea of it apalled me, but dammit, that show was more addictive than Saltines.
(I, um, really used to like Saltines.) Why are you in Tavie's head? 9:51 PM | shower me with attention

Boing Boing posts about MR MACHINE!!!!
I LOVE my Mr Machine! I have carefully preserved him throughout the years. Okay, well, he's pretty old now, but he still works, and I adore him. He's a toy from my earliest childhood and I have always loved him very dearly.
I am way too into my old toys, it's sick. Why are you in Tavie's head? 5:27 PM | shower me with attention

I'm staying overnight at The Penthouse yet again. It's good for me to be at work early. I like it.
I decided to move up to an hour on the elliptical machine, like I'd been doing over the summer. After my long hiatus, I'd been doing 45 minutes at a time and I wanted this to be the week I made it to an hour. (It's not the physical exertion that gets to me, it's the fucking boredom. Even with the iPod there's only so much walking to nowhere I can do.)
At 49 minutes I was ready to call it quits, and just then, an old black man with a grizzly grey beard and a big black camera walked past the large window I was working out in front of, and as he walked by me, his face lit up into a brilliant smile and he flashed me a thumbs up. (Maybe there's something heartwarming, not pathetic, at the sight of a fat girl trying to be healthy.)
That got me going again and the last 11 minutes flew by. Thank you, old smiling man! Why are you in Tavie's head? 7:23 PM | shower me with attention
Today we took sarah to the airport. It ended up taking 7 hours. It was a lot more interesting than what I had been planning to do today, which was absolutely nothing. I wish she hadn't had to go, though.
I am a boring person. Don't you love it?
I'm half-watching In and Out and it's at the one scene that always touched me, where Joan Cusack is in the wedding dress and Kevin Kline has just come out and she's giving the speech about how she fell in love with him and she calls herself "the girl nobody wanted". That particular description wormed its way into me when I saw that movie and never has really left me. I'd change the name of my blog to that if I didn't know that there'd be all kind of uproar from my loved ones.
(Oh, shut up, I'm smiling as I type that.) Why are you in Tavie's head? 3:31 AM | shower me with attention
