Yesterday was one of the best days. I had such a great time at the March for Women's Life. It left me with such a feeling of hope that I have not had in a long time. So many women, men and children standing together. Great Grandpa's and Grandma's with their daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughters and sons too! It spoke volumes to me about how much people want to move foward and be progressive. People who believe in God and people who do not all marching together. Republicans and Democrats believing in the same thing and being proud enough and comcerned enough to march together. Some fantastic speeches and some boring ones too. The scary young poet (though I don't see it) up on the stage, yelling about her Cunt-Ry and the ones who spoke in the same forceful tones and style. but in a much better manner that I enjoyed. Yelling at the people on the sidewalk with their nasty pictures and their nasty lies and their pious praying. Calling us Jezabels, a name that we took up and started chanting to mock them. Calling us murders, which made me shout back that Bush is the real murderer and they should stop praying for us and pray for our soldiers that Bush has marched off to war.
I feel inspired. I want to keep this up. I feel myself changing more and more each day. I am no longer willing to sit by and let things happen around me. It is not enough for me to vote (though it is important!), it is important for me to go and march and express myself in as many public ways that I can.
