Pictures are here. The best display, surprisingly to me, was at Bloomie's. It's inspired by some new Tony Bennett compilation holiday album and showcases some gorgeous 50's-style painted dioramas.
On the other end of the art spectrum were some astonishingly bad paintings on Russian matroyshka dolls (see right), around the corner from FAO Schwartz, the line for which stretched all the way down the block. I took a sad little paparazzi shot of the Whatnot Workshop. The long line was likely full of people trying to buy customized Muppets, something I will probably never get. Sigh.
When we got home I made cocoa.
