The weekend happenings involved:

Staten Island with the Apells. I saw a movie I'd never heard of, based on a musical I'd never heard of, called Cabin in the Sky. It starred Ethel Waters, whom I now love. Also, Rochester from The Jack Benny Show. Whom I've always loved but whom should never, ever have been allowed to sing.

Brunch with the incomparable sarah c. I had not seen her since I was in San Francisco in 2002 visiting my good friend Rynn and my good friends the Kids in the Hall. Sarah c is one of those people that you can not see for 6 years and then have the grandest time with on short notice.

Dinner with my family. The Easter Bunny left plastic eggs with money in them all around the apartment for me to find. The Easter Bunny doesn't care that I'll be 30 in 15 months*.
