I am joining the bespectacled masses. Part-time, anyway.

After years of saying I need to, I finally made an appointment for an eye exam. My last one was at age 14, when I was prescribed reading glasses that I never used and eventually lost.

My eyes are in way better shape than I'd thought (20/30!), but he said I'm slightly near-sighted with astigmatism, so he prescribed me some comfort glasses to use on the computer or at the theatre and stuff. (At the computer, my eyes ache; at the theatre or from far away, objects look blurry.) My vision plan at work is quite good, and I was able to pick frames covered by my insurance that look acceptable on me. They'll be ready next week.
