Christmas finally started today. Gina started decorating the apartment; we went to Toys R Us and bought the presents for our shelter kids; we made cocoa and watched Elf. I'm feeling more ready for it all.

Kirsten wrote a brilliant holiday post that conjured up a lot of lovely childhood memories. It was perfect except that she alternately referred to both me and her friend as "my sister", which confused me a moment, as I'm not in the hospital, and her friend is.

Not that I'm jealous of the apellation. I have a lot of "soul sisters". You know, "sister in all but blood". Er... adopted sisters? (Sorry; too much Elfquest.)
