Is this a new spamming technique?

I got an email from an address that looked like it was emailed from a cell phone-- Cingular-- with a 559 area code. The subject was "Multimedia Message" and the body was nothing but a picture of a child rolling around in the sand with her legs up over her head. The child was fully clothed, but the picture still gave me a vaguely icky feeling, for some reason.

Is this some crazy new way to pornspam people, or did someone from California actually try to phone-email me a picture like this?
