Father's Day fun. The gift: a pound of sugar-free dark chocolate from Lilac's Chocolates (extravagance not on the menu this year, Disney World wiped out my bank account). Lunch at Grand East* Buffet in Flushing (best Chinese buffet I've ever been to; I had frog's legs, snails, scallops, oysters, squid, and whole, deep-fried baby fish, the latter of which made me feel like Gollum); then The DaVinci Code, which was annoyingly predictable, yet entertaining. (Tom Hanks' haircut hands-down the scariest part of the movie.)
Contrary to what the Ideas Committee at work says, the Loews movie passes do not work at United Artist theatres. Or else the people who work at United Artists Kaufman in Astoria are big, fat liars. So I did end up paying for the stupid movie. At least it was fun.
On the way home we saw some rowdy kids-- half in Brazilian colours, the other half shirtless-- getting into loud, drunken fights outside of an incredibly loud bar in Queens by the Q102 stop. The police arrived in a van to break it up. My mother would not allow me to take pictures of the event. I suppose this was wise, but, darn.
*Grand, East, Grand East. Whatever. Good frog legs. Why are you in Tavie's head? 11:02 PM | shower me with attention
