Last post was gloomy. Let me relate something funnier. This morning the little red bus was packed due to the rain, and since I didn't have an umbrella and I really didn't want to walk in the rain, I jumped in through one of the back doors. But the driver shut the door as I was doing so, and my bag (and some of my hair) got caught outside the bus.

"Um, my bag's outside the door" I said (futilely, for the driver couldn't hear me and I didn't want to shout it through the crowd.)*

So we rode to the subway that way. A nice lady kindly suggested that I take the bag off from around my neck "just in case". She was right, so I did, and also managed to wiggle my hair out. But my poor bag had to ride in the rain.

I was honestly too sleepy to care, and nothing was hurt. (Good, strong denim-- thanks, erin!)

*My theory is he didn't want to get cheated out of his quarter and did it on purpose. But, heck, had I been planning to actually pay him his quarter on my way out of the bus (and who's to say I hadn't?), that was rendered impossible by the fact that my purse was outside the bus!
