I have never seen a bluebird in person. In fact, I'd never even seen a picture of one until a few seconds ago, when I thought to google-image it. In fact, until a few moments ago, I wasn't sure if it was, in fact, different from a bluejay. (I said this out loud and Captain Annoying swiftly put me to rights.)

Since I'd never seen one except in cartoons, I had no idea that it wasn't all blue; it has a red breast. It's my state bird, for crying out loud, and yet I remain so ignorant of the bluebird.

I am now obsessed with the idea that I must see a bluebird in person.

But it's winter.
