I'm now becoming fascinated with the phenomenon of celebrities openly posting to newsgroups regularly. (See Douglas Adams, below.) Witness Mike Nesmith. The mid-nineties seemed to be a time of exploration and excitement. These discoveries, along with my own experience with celebrities, if not posting openly, posting furtively and openly acknowledging reading newsgroups around this time, seem to support Tilly's claim about the novelty of the internet as a whole generally wearing off in noticeable ways by now.
As an experiment, I decided not to drink any coffee today. Consequently, I've spent most of the day napping, after arising very late. I feel disconnected and useless. I've been reading more Stephen Fry. Now I'm on his autobiography, Moab is my Washpot. |
