My little brother (in all but blood) came over again last night and we almost finished watching The Tripods (I hate it when the best fan sites are in a language other than English, but whaddyagonnado), which was a British sci-fi series that I have the dimmest of recollections of watching (and being vaguely frightened by) in the 80's when we both lived in Brooklyn together.

In fact, the only character from the show I even remember at all was a lanky French geek named Beanpole, which, when I was a little kid, I thought was the funniest name ever. Upon watching the series with Andrew, I have discovered that I am passionately in love with Beanpole and must marry him. So imagine my disappointment at learning that the actor died last year at the age of 34. From what I can make of the Babelfish translation, he became a Buddhist and lived a lovely life but was ill for many years.

So now Ceri Seel joins John Lennon and Cary Grant in my mental gallery of Hot Guys That I'll Never Get a Chance to Meet.
