Winter 1999
This is the portrait of a man who was enjoying some of the best critical success of his career. This is the portrait of a man with some sexy, sexy legs. This is Mark McKinney after a performance of the off-Broadway hit, David Lindsay-Abaire's Fuddy Meers.

This picture was taken the night that nine of Mark's biggest fans crowded excitedly into the first row-- yes, of course the first row-- in the pleasingly cozy Manhattan Theatre Club. They were close enough to touch him, and excited enough not to care that they had to duck flying Nabisco boxes and spittle. Noticing a gaggle of obvious adorers taking up the entire front row, the Wearer of the Foul-Mouthed Sock Puppet began to ham up his delivery, taking special delight in drawing out the word "toilet paper" to appreciative screams of laughter. After the show, two generations of Mark McKinney devotees-- seven fans and two moms-- waited behind after the show to sputter, froth, congratulate and heap praise upon their hero. Modest but appreciative, Mark met the worship graciously by grabbing the hems of his running-shorts and showing off his sexy, sexy legs for the various cameras. One of his co-stars, Keith Hobbs, wandered by to witness the scene, and was grabbed up by a gleeful Mark to pose for an impromptu photo shoot.

"I'm sorry I brought everyone I know," one of the fans giggled as Mark showed off for his admirers. "Could you show us your thigh?"

Mark was glad to.
