My favorite thing about Boing Boing is the PBC. Ever since they rolled out their new commenting system, the PBC have been in full swing, providing me a reason to keep on considering the internet a worthwhile source of diversion from my gunmetal-gray existence.

What is the PBC? I first heard of it from my McCoy-lovin' colleague, Guy Incognito*. It stands for the "Parents' Basement Committee". They congregate on popular geeksites such as the Boing, and try to outdo one another with the inanity of their commentary. I enjoy them very, very mucho, particularly as a card-carrying member of my local PBC chapter.

Famous PBC members include Wheaton, Wil and Truly, Yers.

*As usual, work-related names changed to protect the innocent, except for Stephanie Apell, who has never ego-surfed in her life, I'm sure.
