It's been a strange, emotional roller coaster of a weekend; sad, fun, awkward, funny, exhausting. We have friends from far away staying the weekend, Liz and Anne Marie, and we all saw The Tribute together and it was fun and good to see Dave and Crissy and it's wonderful having the girls here, but it's also been horrible because Gina had to fly to Florida for a family emergency at the minute, and Cheryl and I have been so worried and sad for her, and also not wanting Liz and Anne Marie to not have fun in New York. Luckily they're wonderful girls, really unassuming and easygoing and way too polite and patient with us. Kitana stayed last night, which was the biggest treat possible, and we all went to The Met today. But really all I can think about is Gina and her family.

Life is strange that way. We'll have the Stephs over for Thanksgiving and my parents will be in China. DJ Jazzy Steph's parents will be here, though. Peņa will be emailing me an Excel spreadsheet of ingredients and we'll make Thanksgiving happen without Gina, somehow, although it does feel oddly like when J-Rock is out sick and I get pulled into a meeting in his place and have to improvise knowing what I'm doing.
