I have just realized two things:

1. It is not a coincidence that I have become obsessed with M*A*S*H and Sports Night at roughly the same time. To wit:

Is "Sports Night" a comedy or a drama?...I think that Larry Gelbart with "M*A*S*H" showed us that if you just respect the reality of the situation, you can have a series that's both funny and emotional, not just in the same episode, but oftentimes in the same scene. So it was both.

(And both Gelbart and Sorkin are [reportedly] active participants in their respective internet fan message boards. No, this is not a coincidence.)

2. The girl in the commercials for the godawful-looking Comedy Central movie "Porn and Fried Chicken" is the little girl from Home Alone. Brrr.
