Lest I forget to mention, watching Free to Be, You and Me again after all these years was exactly the magical, nostalgiac experience I'd hoped for. The bit with Kris Kristoffersson and all the gentle 70's folks singing a round in a circle in front of a fire was something I'd completely forgotten about (since the song isn't on the soundtrack album), but it's something that really formed a strong part of my personality as a child, I think, because it's a visual image I never really forgot and the reason I'm so fond of any scene in a book, movie or television show in which people sit around and sing together. And the whole special-- particular "Brothers and Sisters"-- is the epitome of 70's New York for me. You in particular know what I mean.

When I grow up I'm gonna be happy
and do what I like to do
Like makin' noise and makin' faces
and makin' friends like you.
